Introduction!

Hey! My name is Mary Beth Fertig and I am going to be a junior this fall at Mercer majoring in communications. I am from Fort Lauderdale Florida and I am the fifth of six kids. I will most likely be seeking a minor in English, which is the reason I am taking this course. I took Intro to Mass Media online last summer and really enjoyed the freedom an online course allowed me. Living so far from Macon I benefit from the opportunity to stay at home for the summer and still take Mercer courses. While I did take an online course last summer the nature and content of this course appears more difficult, so I do have some anxieties. Another reason I am excited for this course is because I find it difficult to always fully participate in face-to-face settings because I am a little shy, but I am hoping that through the blogs and chats it will be an easier environment for me to participate. I hope this class will give me a better ability to interpret literature, as well as help improve my writing skills. I am looking forward to beginning the course and working with all of you!
